Cara up for a free medic alert bracelet, it is a program through her school and I had to wait until she turned 4, for some reason. She was 3 years old when she started school and she had T1 so way could I not order her the bracelet then??? Whatever. So I order it on Nov 24th (her 4th birthday) and it is already here. I was so excited and thought that she would be too....I guess not! The only way that I can get her to wear it is if I make Kylie (Cara's older sister) tell her that she wants to wear the bracelet. On another note I was watching Dr. Oz last night (I think a re-run) and it was about diabetes.....really it was about type 2 diabetes. There was no mention from the beginning of the show to half way threw the show about type 1 diabetes and the differences between type 1 and type2. I just could not even watch, I was waiting and waiting when the DOCTOR would explain to all the layman out there about type 1 and type 2, and actually as I sit here thinking about it he really never even used the term type 2 diabetes just diabetes..... a little general don't you think especially for a Doctor? I had to turn the channel when they (the Doc and a fitness guy) started to teach everyone how to revere and cure diabetes by eating healthier.... and we wonder why there is so many misconception when a DOCTOR can't even explain the differences between the two!!

you need to contact the show or we all us d moms will and give them a piece of our mind and you know we all can do this . we have done it before . I just love it when a dr cant get it together .
It has already been done I posted my letter that I sent the show.
That is just too frustrating. It makes my blood boil! I'm going to see if I can find it and I'll write too! Maybe he would have us all on the show to help clear up misconceptions!!
About the bracelet.. when Ave was dx'd I ordered her one in the mail. Wasn't sure if shed wear it since she had never worn one before- but she helped pick out a cute one and she loves it. Wears it every day. I'll look up where I ordered from... It's got beads and a little princess crown with a "jewel" - and they make them really small so it actually fits her!
ARGH!!!!!!!!! I hate those TV generalizations!!!!!
Hi,
7.9% of the United States population is suffering from a form of Diabetes. That is over 23 million people! Now, more than ever, it is important for organizations such as yourself. We here, at Disease.com (a site dedicated towards disease and their treatments), believe in the work you do and would like to coincide for the fight against diabetes. If you could, please list us as a resource or host our social book mark button, it would be much appreciated. Separately, we can make advancements, but together we can find a cure.
If you need more information please email me back with the subject line as your URL.
Thank You,
