She had fallen fast asleep on the couch one night before making it to bed (she did not even make it in her pj's) and of course we still needed to check her blood sugar before we sent her off to la-la land for the night.
Now how do you check ones blood sugar in their sleep without waking them when in their sleep they are guarding theirs fingers??
But as many of you know this is how T1 sleep ALL THE TIME. Every night we find ourselves quietly and carefully pulling her hands out from under her to find those sweet little finger tips.

Toes and ear lobes... Although...I usually just wrestle his finger tips from under Joe. Joe sleeps like the DEAD...
Jonathan is like Joe... and some night's my heart skips a beat until I see his chest move. We've never done anywhere but fingers, I guess in the end, at least in my mind, it's non-negotiable and he will fall back to sleep (if he woke up).
Yep - Nate sleeps on his hands too!
Nate hates his toes checked so Ijust wrestle those little hands out.
So sad. :(
ALL THREE of my boys sleep on their hands. I would too if they were poked all the live long day!
