Today's Challenge is to write a health acrostic using your condition (in my case Cara's).
What is an acrostic you ask? Well so did I...
An acrostic: An acrostic poem is a cryptographic form in which the initial letter of each line spells out a word, often the subject of the poem or the name of the person to whom the poem is dedicated.
OK, so lets hope I did this right!!
My topic :) TYPE ONE DIABETES
This disease in not mine it is
Yours my sweet!
People are often confused it is not caused by the things you
Eat.
Open your ears and listen pretty please,
Nothing we have done has caused this disease.
Everyone needs to understand it's an autoimmune disease
Diabetes has many different types and none are the same.
I am a mother of a child with type 1 and Cara is her name.
A lot of work, time and energy goes into keeping her safe and healthy,
Blood sugar checks, carb counting is never fun but I always make sure I have my Tim Hortons coffee.
Everyday I count my blessings that insulin is here to keep my daughter alive
That is fine for now but a cure is why we strive
Even though we do everything right she still can't make insulin on her own,
She is strong and she is tough but some days we just need to bitch and moan.
and day one is done, thanks for reading!!

Love you....love your poem...I like that you stretched it out to "Type One Diabetes". I haven't seen that yet.
