Life has gotten ahead of me and HAWMC took a back seat in order for me to keep my sanity. It is just the way it works around here. Sometimes I just can't keep up and things need to be dropped.
I'm only human!! even though I'm working as an organ and I'm running around like a chicken with it's head cut off...YUCK. What a funny saying that is, were do we come up with these things?
Anyways today we meet with the "pump lady" and check out the Animas Ping.
And I really liked it, Cara just smiled the WHOLE TIME!! Half was through our meeting the "pump lady" said to her "you know I'm not a rock star or anything" because Cara was just in awe of this women and her pumps.
We LOVED the remote/meter combo...LOVE LOVE LOVE. Cara is on the go go go all the time time time and I really just think this would be great for us and her. I know that she must be within 10 feet of the remote to bolus but it is still great that I don't need to mess around with her and the pump to bolus and work the pump.
We like the waterproof option as well. and YES to all the waterproof haters out there who say that a pump can't be 100% waterproof blah blah blah...I still like it!!
and Cara LOVES every thing about it that a 5 year old little girl would love. She loved the colours and the covers and the vibration that the pump made when bolusing. She just thought it was the coolest thing.
So now we wait until May 3rd to meet the "pump guy" for Medtronic. and then the big decision!!

Sanity is worth saving!!!! And, I agree with the chicken with it's head cut off . . . BAD VISUAL!
I am happy to hear the review of this pump, as we will be in the market very soon. It's nice to hear Ally's perspective, too. Even if it is all about style, bells and whistles. She has to wear it, so she shoudl be able to help decide!
Nope, not a bust! You did what you had to do. There are times when something's gotta give, and this was just one of those times. You're a super busy mama, and you've had a lot on your plate, my friend. That's all.
I'm so excited for Cara! I love hearing how enthralled she is. And I'm looking forward to reading about your meeting with the Medtronic "pump guy."
You can't go wrong, my friend :)
I'm so excited for you, though!!! I feel like I've "known" you forever and this is such a big step!
YAY!!!!!!!!
Wow yes, sanity comes first. the rest is inconsequential. I have Animas envy. Big time! it seems to me that Medtronic is loosing a lot of its users to Animas lately. They have nicer looking pumps with real neat screens that don't look like first generation pagers. And they most certainly are waterproof.
I hope your decision goes well.
As Justin took off into the sprinkler the other day... clothes and all(he thought he was being funny), all I could think about is... good thing his pumps waterproof.
We never intend to jump in pools with phones in our pockets or drop our electronics in the toilet... but I've done both; and I say waterproof is a beautiful thing.
The remote is awesome.
