Shhhh, there is something I need to tell you!

Today is day 10 of HAWMC and today I have a secret to tell you...well if you read this BLOG you probably already know it, but I'm still going to tell you anyways.

DIABETES!!

That's right, I HATE the word diabetes almost as much as I HATE the disease it refers to.  Now, I know that may not be a big secret to some of you but I just needed to get that out.

I think that the term diabetes causes more confusion and spreads more misconception about type 1, type 1.5 and type 2 diabetes.  Did you notice I did not mention gestational diabetes? People USUALLY  don't lump gestational diabetes into the term diabetes. The actual full and right name is used and therefore actual facts are shared, listened to and understood. 

I think anytime that you don't clearly define or use the proper full name of a disease or any topic that you are discussing for that matter, you are going to cause people to assume things and facts fly right out the window.
