Have you met DUSTY?

A while ago DUSTY entered our lives and he has been a fun and very important part of many of our type 1 experiences these past few months.

Dusty has brought laughs, education and attention to us and type 1 diabetes.

Dusty is a part of The Diabetes Dude's crew and so are we.  We bring awareness and education about type 1 diabetes wherever we go and if you have some blue flamingo silly bands and a great big BLUE flamingo named Dusty you also bring a lot of smiles and laughter.

Smile and laughter as we educate and share our story is just how we roll!!


So what have we been up to with our new friend Dusty?

Well.... On the first night Dusty ended up bunking with Kylie

Dusty came to our 2011 JDRF walk and WE all had a fabulous time!!  With those thin, long legs you would think walking 5k would not be too difficult but Dusty seemed to like when Cara carried him around.

Dusty also took part in our 5K Virtual Run and boy was he tired!!

Some days Dusty just liked hanging out in front of the house watching the cars go by while people pointed and smiled at him.

 Dusty was a trooper making the 4 hour road trip to Toronto for the Children With Diabetes, Friends For Life 2011 Conference.

Dusty and Cara have also made visits to our diabetic clinic leaving blue flamingo silly bands for all the kids.

It has been a wonderful time with Mr. Dusty the blue flamingo in our house.
